Do you know women are the cornerstone of economic activity in the tourism sector, and they are well represented in most regions of the world? In addition to creating opportunities for women’s economic empowerment, tourism has also contributed to reducing gender-related inequalities across the globe. Despite efforts to bridge the gender equality gap, women entrepreneurs still experience challenges that limit their success. Particularly in Africa, socio-cultural and economic constraints hinder women’s path to success in the sector. For women to succeed in the tourism sector, these limitations must be addressed.
